Ghanaian musician, Kwabena Kwabena was born on 17th October 1978 in Accra. His birth name is George Kwabena Adu.
Kwabena Kwabena started his education at the Bubuashie branch of the Datus Complex School; after his family relocated to Achimota, he had to enroll in Green Hill School. He continued his secondary education at Aggrey Junior Secondary School for his basic education and completed St. Peters Secondary School in Nkwatia Kwahu in Eastern Region.
During his tertiary education in Accra Polytechnic, George Adu expressed his love for music. He however maintained an acute aspiration to become an architect, a dream he gave up on after taking up his music career.
At the age of 14, Kwabena Kwabena was noted for playing guitar in church and doubling as the church choir lead. Despite music not being his original career plan, Kwabena Kwabena maintains that he did not become a musician by chance.
His musical career took a commercial turn at Hush Hush Studios where he would feature on other people’s songs.
After seven years of preparation, Kwabena Kwabena released his self-title album, which he says is full of “encouraging and soul touching music”.
Over the years, Kwabena Kwabena has worked with top producers like Appietus, Hammer, Martin and Isaac Wallace. One of his top songs, “Asor” on which he featured Kontihene is a well-mixed and mastered song by Hubert and Kofi Enti of Hush Hush Studios.
According to George Adu, these producers played a very crucial role in his success and he has also learnt a lot from them.
Kwabena owns a foundation called KBKB which helps patient with heart disorders and thus organizes a yaerly concert on 14 February to help raise funds for that
He enjoys being in the studio most times and his favorite food is fufu with groundnut soup.
