Joe Mettle is mostly known for his creative stage craft and passion. He is gradually carving a niche for himself as a must- hear gospel artiste of our time. At age sixteen he realized that he had a unique calling upon his life. His Christian upbringing and time spent in the counsel of elderly Christians laid the foundation he stands upon as a gospel singer. During his early days of singing, he worked as a backing vocalist for some Ghanaian gospel greats including Cindy Thompson, Minister Danny Nettey, and Reverend Tom Bright Davies. Joe Mettle was the lead singer for the indigenous multicultural music group, Soul Winners.
In 2007, Joe Mettle Ministries was founded from the desire to use music, which is undoubtedly a commanding element, to bring people together. The ultimate vision is centered on empowering believers and winning souls for Christ through the power of worship. The Ministry has two major annual headline events. Praiz Reloaded, midyear and Lovegift in December.
His 2012 debut single ‘’Nhyira’’ has now become a regular on the playlist of many households. He is an inspirational singer and a deeply moving listening experience. Joe already has 3 albums; ‘’My Gratitude’’ which he released in 2011 and ‘’Sound of Praise’’, a live recorded album released in 2013. His most recent “The Encounter” album was recorded in June at the annual concert, Praiz Reloaded organized by Joe Mettle Ministries and Reverb Studios. It was launched in October 2015. The album was recorded live and features both traditional and contemporary grooves which sit on Godly inspired lyrics. His Single, “Turning Around” which is on this new album won the Best Male Vocal Performance Award at the recent Vodafone Ghana Music Awards ceremony.
As part of the ministries vision to empower believers and bring souls to Christ through music, the Community Worship Project (CWP) & The Senior High School Outreach Project (SHSOP) were instituted. The CWP is a quarterly organized worship and praise event that brings various gospel artists and people in community together under one roof to praise, worship and share the word. The SHSOP is geared towards the younger generation, especially High School aged youth. In a world where peer-pressure and the constant need to “fit in” runs rampant, SHSOP aims at redirecting the hearts of young men and women back to Christ through music. Artists who participate in the outreach program spend time talking, counseling and praying with the youth who often come heavy hearted and seek a listening ear.
