THE DREAM of to join the gospel train has come to pass with the release of his second gospel music album ‘Sacrifice’.
This young, talented gospel musician is out to do more than just entertain; he wants to make a difference in the lives of the youth that he meets.
happens to be one of the few young and talented gospel music stars in the country presently who are working tirelessly to keep the flames of their genre burning.
This album, produced by Ernest Kwesi Ennin of Media Excel Production, is a true reflection of Kofi’s worshipping heart and desire for Godliness. What is very moving about this album is the sound quality of the soul touching songs, which could be attributed to the state-of-the-art equipment used during production.
DSP Sarpong is seen as an inspiration, and his looks cannot make one think of anything less. He has indeed proven beyond all reasonable doubt to numerous fans that he really has come to stay.
Presently, the inspirational singer’s CDs have hit the streets and are selling like hot cake in Accra and other regional capitals.
The album is a unique mix of neatly arranged lyrics with sensational and inspirational rhythms.
Having sung for several years, DSP Sarpong has a good voice and an appealing demeanour.
The album has distinctive features in terms of arrangement, beat and style; a new dimension in our current gospel dispensation.
The creativity in the compositions is also commendable. Some of the songs on the album include ‘Adom Bi’, ‘Meto Ndwom’, ‘Oyame Dadano’, ‘Ohaw Ne Obre’, Sacrifice and a host of others which are difficult to resist.
Born into a family of Presbyterians, , who joined the Police Service 13 years ago, told BEATWAVES that he started singing in the choir at the age of 12 in Brekum.
He disclosed that it has always been his dream to promote the teachings of Christ through music. According to him, since it is good for the soul it was his duty to compose music that would educate, entertain and encourage everybody, including the downhearted.
Kofi Sarpong’s songs always talk about the faithfulness of God and the reason why Ghanaians should give thanks to Him as long as they live on this earth, and also sacrifice for one another.
He hinted that looking at the calibre of talented gospel music stars in Ghana today; Ghana’s gospel music industry has a bright future.
He also said it is time for the gospel industry to expect great things from God, adding that God was the same yesterday, today and tomorrow and is ready to support every gospel musician who invites Him in his activities in the same way he did for others.
